Hope this email finds you well!
May and June:
Market conditions really tested tech companies that were default dead or alive. REEF cut thousands of employees, and everyone in my SWE team was let go, including me.
Big shoutout to my friends Robbie and Luciano from Maza who gave me the opportunity to work on growth for their company. I worked on two growth hack initiatives, one of which required quickly spinning up a website landing page as a click funnel for driving new users.
After moonlighting projects for years now, I'm going to give starting a company another shot. I've heard solving a problem you already have or are passionate about is the way to go.
I know I'm passionate about problem-solving and 10x'ing (better, faster, cheaper) things with tech and automation and am still searching for a problem to solve.
I see a paradigm shift happening with home service businesses. 10,000 Baby-boomers retire every single day, and 10% of U.S. baby-boomers own a small business. That is $5.1 Trillion in value that will change ownership, and these new owners will leverage tech to 10x operations and make their and their employees' lives easier.
I am also interested in Enterprise Software, Healthcare, Financial Services, and Underserved Communities and Social Services areas listed in YC's Requests for Startups section.
How you can help:
If you know someone who works in one of the underlined industries, I would love to ask them about an experience or process that frustrates them.
i.e. if this thing they did was magically removed, they would be the happiest person alive.
