"Advisor Update #15: AWS Kinesis, RX Renewal Automation, and Negotiation Research"

Michael Pichardo May 1, 2023 Updated May 26, 2026

Built weight-loss signup and drug screening procedures at eMed. Now moving to AWS Kinesis streams and automated RX renewal. Also aggregating negotiation stories from people across my network.

I hope this email finds you doing well. I'm excited to share with you what I've been working on in March and April.

At my day job, emed.com, we are launching a new weight-loss product, and I am responsible for building the product that millions of users will interact with. So far, I have built the signup and check-in procedures for the weight loss business. I also built the procedure for saliva based drug screening that is the first of its kind, allowing people to skip their visit to Quest for employment or parole reasons. I am thrilled about my next assignment that requires a new set of technical skills. I will now build AWS Kinesis streams so that we can leverage the data from the proctored sessions in new ways, and will also build an automated RX renewal system to control customer access to the weight-loss subscription service based on their recurring Stripe payment authorization being successful or not.

Not only that, but I evaluated two concepts, a Quantum computing component aggregator and a last-mile delivery concept, but ultimately decided not to pursue them. Nevertheless, going through the exercise strengthens the business muscles, which is valuable.

I've also been following the developments and demo videos posted on Twitter on what people are building with AI.

Other news:

I'm halfway through the book "Never Split the Difference," and I'm finding it to be a great resource for sharpening my negotiation skills.

How you can help:

I'd love to learn from your experiences in negotiation, whether it's a job offer, a deal with another party, an arrangement with a client, advisor, maybe even your spouse?! I am aggregating insights and lessons learned from people's experiences, be it a success or a failure.

Thank you for your continued support, and please reply to this email if you have any exciting updates / negotiation stories or if you need any help from me.

Grateful for your support on the entrepreneurship journey.
