"Advisor Update #4: One Month Into the Q4 Challenge"

Michael Pichardo November 1, 2021 Updated May 26, 2026

20+ face-to-face engagements, 2 prospective clients, and 7% progress toward $10K. Here's what I learned about target customers and the investigate phase.

I hope you enjoyed a Halloween weekend with family and friends! In October, I achieved 7% progress towards my q4 challenge goal of $10K in revenue by EOY.

With 2 more months (including holidays) to reach this goal, I feel the time fly-by for this challenge!

I had about 20+ face-to-face engagements (a secondary metric I am tracking for progress) last month and have 2 prospective clients that I'm in the "investigate" phase with.

I learned 1) the importance of knowing who your target customer is so you avoid selling to everyone and 2) the "investigate" phase is most important to understanding your customer's "need".

How you can help:

1. Do you know a business owner with 5+ employees who has a never-ending task that can be solved with automation? Please reply to this email.

Special thanks to my friend Jen for facilitating an intro to an exciting prospective client and for thinking of me when she had an automation need.

Other news:

  • Met with 4 founders in NYC, learned about their journeys (Thank you guys for replying to my previous email)
  • Went to 3 tech meetups in Miami--which was great for meeting prospective clients
  • I am reading Spin Selling and am 50% done
  • Learning Full stack engineering during the 9-5
  • Learned about these awesome tools: Retool, StackerHQ, Splitbee, WhaleSync

Is there a way I can help you with your q4 goals? Happy to chat and exchange feedback.

Grateful for your support on the entrepreneurship journey.
